Mechanical Inspector On Call

About the role

SAFEbuilt is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Building Official. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building codes, zoning regulations, and construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve building plans and permits according to local and state codes
• Inspect construction sites to ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards
• Enforce zoning laws and regulations to ensure compliance with community planning guidelines
• Provide technical guidance and training to contractors and developers
• Respond to complaints and inquiries related to building and zoning issues
• Keep abreast of changes in building codes and regulations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in building inspection or code enforcement
• Knowledge of local and state building codes and zoning regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Qualifications

• Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong organizational and time management skills

Pay

$80,000 - $90,000 annually
