On Call caregiver. HHA. in your North shore area
The Main Function
The on-call caregiver has the main function of being available outside of regular business hours to the on-call supervisor to fill last-minute call outs and urgent client needs. They assist clients in their homes with activities of daily living, boost their spirits, and significantly improve their quality of life by delivering quality and safe home health care services.
Responsibilities
- Accepts responsibility for own actions
- Pays stipend for being on call in addition to an hourly wage for any hours worked with clients
- Returns all phone calls within 15 minutes during the time period on call
- May receive calls at any time prior to or during the on call shift, including midnight to go in for an overnight if on call 8pm-8am
- Leaves to see a client within 30 minutes of getting a call from the on-call supervisor
- Accepts all assignments given during the time period on call, regardless of location
- Forfeits on call stipend if refuses to comply with any of the above responsibilities
- Reviews client care plans prior to providing care
- Has reliable transportation to see any clients needing service during on call time period
- Communicates with the agency about problems and concerns
- Completes required documentation accurately and on a timely basis
- Respects and maintains client confidentiality at all times
- Reports concerns of client abuse or neglect
- Refrains from discussing personal problems, concerns, or opinions with client, or client representatives
- Maintain access to an email account to receive client updates, schedule changes, company updates and highlights
- Wear personal protective equipment in accordance with training procedures
- Maintain a clean, insured vehicle that has had manufacturer's recommended scheduled services
- Performs all tasks as noted in HHA, CNA or PCA job description
Qualifications
- HHA or CNA certification is desired, but a strong work history with elderly clients would be seriously considered if applicant was non-certified
- Must be able to leave to see a client within 30 minutes of getting a call from the on-call supervisor
- Must have reliable transportation to see any clients needing service during on call time period
- Must be willing to adhere to health and safety standards
- Must be respectful and compassionate
- Must have good time management skills
- Must have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have strong ethics
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
