Field Technician I position serving the Shreveport, LA area.
About the role
You will gain basic knowledge of the terminology, processes, and equipment used in the operation, maintenance, and monitoring (OM&M) of various environmental control systems, while building foundational understanding of health and safety requirements. This role reports to a senior-level supervisor, such as a Project Superintendent or Project Manager.
Responsibilities
- Learn and comply with SCS policies and procedures, focusing on:
- SCS Injury and Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP) and Health & Safety program
- SCS Quality Management System for work quality
- SCS Standards of Business Conduct and Ethics
- Develop fundamentals for operating, monitoring, and maintaining environmental systems
- Assist senior staff in planning and executing tasks, including daily Crew Activity Plans (CAP), monitoring, and adjusting environmental control system components
- Perform basic maintenance and repairs of environmental control system components under senior staff direction
- Conduct field observations and document them via field notes and daily logs for client communications
- Use field instruments to measure environmental control system data, including calibration and proper care of instruments
- Participate in preliminary data reviews with supervisors to learn data interpretation fundamentals
- Assist with operational adjustments to environmental control system components based on data review results
- Receive training on appropriate tools, equipment, and materials for maintenance and repairs
- Assist Laborers, Field Technician II, Senior Field Technicians, or other staff with removal of landfill liquids pumps
Requirements
- 3 years of field experience preferred
- Possess or be willing to complete a 40-Hour HAZWOPER Course, OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 (training provided if not current)
- Basic computer/technology skills including Smartphones, Tablets, and Microsoft Office Programs (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record in good standing
- Must meet physical requirements and pass a human performance evaluation (HPE), including:
- Driving (pick-up truck)
- Walking inspection of improved and unimproved property
- Lifting and carrying equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted)
- Hand excavation/digging (using shovels/picks)
- Carrying and climbing ladders
- Operating manlifts and working from manlifts
- Operating electric tools (drills, saws, etc.)
- Using hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, etc.)
- Providing services under varying weather conditions
Pay
USD $25.00 - USD $30.00 per hour
