Older Children Ministry Coordinator
Seven Holy Founders Parish is seeking a dedicated and faith-filled Older Children Ministry Coordinator to support the spiritual formation and engagement of children in grades 4-8. This role is based at the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO, the headquarters of the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
About the role
The Older Children Ministry Coordinator oversees and supports ministry programs designed for older elementary and middle school-aged children. The Coordinator develops engaging faith formation experiences, coordinates volunteers, promotes participation in parish activities, and creates a welcoming environment where children can grow spiritually, socially, and emotionally. This position requires strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, along with a commitment to Catholic values and the mission of the Church.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and lead ministry programs, activities, and events for children in grades 4-8.
- Develop age-appropriate faith formation opportunities that promote knowledge of Catholic teachings, prayer, scripture, and discipleship.
- Foster a welcoming, safe, and Christ-centered environment for all participants.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and support ministry volunteers in accordance with diocesan Safe Environment requirements.
- Collaborate with parish staff, catechists, parents, and ministry leaders to support program goals and student engagement.
- Plan and coordinate retreats, service projects, youth gatherings, special events, and other ministry activities.
- Encourage participation in Mass, sacraments, parish events, and community service opportunities.
- Maintain records, attendance, communications, and program materials as required.
- Communicate regularly with parents and families regarding ministry activities, schedules, and opportunities for involvement.
- Monitor and manage ministry resources, supplies, and budget expenditures as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with parish, diocesan, and Safe Environment policies and procedures.
- Promote faith development through mentorship, relationship building, and pastoral support of children and their families.
- Attend parish meetings, staff meetings, training sessions, and formation opportunities as required.
- Support the mission and values of Seven Holy Founders Parish through professional conduct and active witness to the Catholic faith.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Pastor or Director of Faith Formation.
