Job Summary
The Kids Ministry Coordinator is responsible for leading our Bible-based after-school ministry at one or more Bay Area school sites, providing both spiritual and operational leadership for each program. This role exists to create opportunities for children and families to hear the gospel, encounter Jesus Christ, and grow as His disciples through authentic relationships, engaging Bible teaching, and a caring community of volunteers.
Key Responsibilities
- Faithfully share the gospel with children and families through Bible teaching, personal relationships, and everyday ministry opportunities
- Pray regularly for the children, families, volunteers, schools, and communities we serve
- Recruit, train, and support a team of volunteers, providing ongoing coaching and program preparation
- Lead operations of the after-school program at one or more assigned sites, ensuring a safe, structured, and engaging environment for children
- Drive a company truck or van to transport materials and supplies to and from the program site(s) as needed
- Help develop and prepare Bible-based lesson plans, activities, and program content tailored to various age groups
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with school administrators and staff
- Communicate regularly with parents to share program updates, address concerns, and build trust and connection
- Facilitate engaging, age-appropriate activities that foster relationship-building between staff, volunteers, and children
- Monitor program quality and effectiveness at assigned site(s), adjusting activities and approaches to support growth and engagement
- Provide support across other Mobilize Love’s ministries as needed, including after-school programs, community outreach events, warehouse operations, and other initiatives
Required Qualifications
- A committed follower of Jesus Christ who demonstrates a growing, authentic relationship with Him
- Supports and agrees with Mobilize Love's Statement of Faith and mission
- Regularly involved in a local church community
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, parents, volunteers, and school staff
- Ability to lead, train, and motivate a team of volunteers
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must be available to work weekday evenings and occasional weekends
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a kids ministry, teaching, or youth program leadership role
- Comfortable praying with and ministering to children, families, and volunteers in a variety of settings
- Comfortable developing or adapting Bible-based lessons and activities for various age groups
- Experience liaising with schools, community organizations, or educational partners
- Familiarity with volunteer management best practices
- Interest in growing into a broader leadership role as the program expands
Technical Skills
- Familiarity with tools such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Slack, Canva, Planning Center, Eventbrite, WaiverSign, and Spotify
- Comfortable using email, text, or messaging platforms to communicate with parents and volunteers
- Organizational skills to manage schedules, attendance, and program logistics
