About The Role
Act as an attorney who represents TMLF and TMLF creditor clients in pre-litigation issues, foreclosure actions, bankruptcy, evictions, excess proceeds, and other litigation matters as assigned. Will also work with TMLF team on internal case processing.
What You'll Do
- Efficient management of multiple pre-litigation issues, foreclosure actions, bankruptcy, evictions, excess proceeds, and other litigation matters as assigned.
- Timely preparation of high quality letters, emails, foreclosure documents, pleadings, motions, discovery, disclosure, and appellate briefs as assigned.
- Reviews, audits, and edits legal work product of department staff.
- Provides guidance, feedback, and approval on legal work product to non-attorney staff and as requested.
- Maintains a high level of ethical standards concerning case load.
- Attends court hearings, mediations, trials, and oral arguments as required.
- Initial intake and preparation of strategy analysis of new cases assigned.
- Research applicable to assigned cases.
- Accurate recording of billable work performed.
- Provides excellent customer service to clients.
- Commitment to continued education/learning by attending CLEs, etc.
- Assist with other tasks as assigned by Managing Attorney.
Qualifications
- A Juris Doctorate, Oklahoma State Bar license in good standing.
- 5+ years of experience in creditors' rights, foreclosure, or title.
- Strong familiarity with Oklahoma Code of Civil Procedure and court appearances requirements.
- Willingness to travel to various Oklahoma counties as needed.
- Comfortable drafting basic pleadings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information to clients, colleagues, and leadership.
- Demonstrated customer-service skills, including professionalism, responsiveness, and the ability to resolve inquiries effectively.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with a proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- High attention to detail and accuracy, especially when reviewing documents and updating case information.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and determine effective solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Access, with the ability to learn additional technology platforms as required.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Adaptability to changing client expectations, internal processes, and industry requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bankruptcy experience is a plus, though not required.
- Additional active law licenses in any of the following states are a plus: Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, California, or Hawaii.
