About the role
OhioBasketball.com is a nationally known event operator that provides high-level grassroots AAU opportunities across the United States. Based in Northeast Ohio, we run boys’ and girls’ youth tournaments locally, regionally, and nationally, currently operating 80+ events in 12 states: Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Texas, Illinois, Missouri, Virginia, Florida, and Wisconsin.
Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation of event logistics (venue management, signage, hospitality, transportation, food & beverage, volunteers, etc.).
- Attend on-site walkthroughs and planning meetings.
- Aid in the planning and logistics for future hosted events.
- Serve as event operation staff (additional day/evening/weekend hours required) for OhioBasketball events, including travel to and from locations (OHB provides lodging during stays).
- Assist full-time staff with event planning, day-to-day operations, and on-site event management.
- Aid in the distribution of marketing and promotional materials.
- Research and target prospective areas to host events.
- Other duties as assigned.

- The Clash – April 23–25 in Cincinnati, OH
- The Clash of the Clubs – May 14–16 in Houston, TX
- The Classic – May 14–16 in Louisville, KY
- Run 4 Roses Classic – July 8–10 in Louisville, KY
- Run 4 Roses Championship – July 11–13 in Louisville, KY
- Local events running between these dates
Requirements
- Prior experience with event management/operations preferred.
- Eagerness to learn the business of sports and ability to think outside the box.
- Passion and team-player attitude.
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university (undergraduate or post-graduate program) or have recently completed (within 6 months).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment during events with long hours.
- Ability to view computer monitors.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to stand or be on your feet for extended periods of time.
Work Environment
Office environment with moderate noise; event environments vary and include both indoor and outdoor requirements.

Schedule
Intern work hours are based on individual schedules and paid up to 30 hours per week, Monday–Thursday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. If receiving college credit, the institution can define work hours up to 30 hours per week. Additional hours and weekend work are expected during events.
Pay
$15/hour (minus required withholdings), paid biweekly, up to 30 hours per week.
Flexibility
Remote work options are anticipated on select days; candidates should be flexible to work both remotely, in-person at the office, and on-site at events or meetings. Interns should expect a minimum of 2 in-person days per week.
Transportation and Parking
Transportation is not provided; candidates must own and operate their own vehicle.
Supervision
The Event Operations Manager serves as direct supervisor; intern tasks require significant cooperation among staff. Close working relationships with the entire OHB staff are expected.
