About the Role

Fugro's Positioning and Construction support service line specializes in construction surveys, project management, and positioning skills, eliminating the need for redesign during installation. Using advanced equipment and software, we ensure accurate positioning and careful construction of assets. The Offshore Surveyor will assist with and learn the setup, testing, calibration, and operation of various survey and positioning systems, while also gaining awareness of engineering, processing, and marine disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example, prioritizing Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and Environmental protection.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted with the highest regard for health, safety, and environmental protection.
  • Assist with setup, interface, testing, calibration, and operation of survey sensors.
  • Operate online survey software, monitor data quality, and report non-conformances to the supervisor.
  • Collect, collate, and present results from multiple survey sensors.
  • Assist with preparation of mobilization and calibration reports.
  • Maintain accurate vessel survey logs.
  • Attend project briefings, daily meetings, and safety meetings.
  • Gain experience with processing software and techniques.
  • Develop skills across various offshore disciplines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
  • Able to obtain a valid passport for international travel.
  • Associate's degree or higher in Surveying, GIS, Geophysics, or a technical discipline preferred.
  • Must pass an OGUK physical and a DOT drug screen.
  • Current BOSIET certification or ability to complete within 3 weeks of employment.
  • Willing and able to work offshore for 4-6 weeks at a time.
  • Offshore, military experience, or technical training is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.

Qualifications

Candidates exceeding minimum requirements may be considered for higher-level roles based on experience, additional job requirements, and business needs. Opportunities include Assistant Surveyor, Surveyor, or Senior Surveyor.
