Description

The Press Operator B is responsible for all aspects of press performance, including leading and directing Assistant Press Operators and overseeing feeder and jogger functions. This role ensures the efficient setup and operation of sheet-fed offset printing presses to produce single and multicolor work from lithographic plates. A typical day includes preparing press jobs, verifying specifications, maintaining print quality, and making real-time adjustments to meet production standards while ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with organizational guidelines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED required)
  • 1–2 years of experience operating a multi-color printing press in a manufacturing environment or equivalent training
  • Strong mathematical skills with understanding of measurements
  • Proficiency with basic computer systems
  • Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Able to work both independently and within a team environment

Physical Demands

  • Standing, walking, talking, hearing, and visually inspecting materials throughout a 12-hour shift
  • Frequent bending, climbing, lifting (up to and exceeding 50 pounds), pushing, pulling, reaching, and using hands for handling tasks
  • Moderate noise levels
