About the Role
This is the advanced journey level of the Office Technician (T) classification. Employees at this level perform a variety of the most difficult duties and are expected to exercise a high degree of initiative, independence, and originality. Responsibilities include detailed and sensitive public contact and independent origination of correspondence involving the knowledge and application of detailed regulations, policies, and procedures. Good judgment and effective communication are essential. Work at this level is rarely reviewed, and positions may involve functional guidance, training, and assisting less experienced employees.
Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) requires full-time employees in Bargaining Unit 4, and related Excluded, Exempt, and Statutory Exempt employees, to have their base salary reduced by 3% and receive 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Part-time and permanent intermittent employees are subject to the same conditions on a prorated basis. This is a limited-term position which may be extended or become permanent.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of complex and sensitive office duties requiring detailed knowledge of regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Engage in public contact and independently originate correspondence.
- Exercise initiative, independence, and originality in completing assigned tasks.
- Provide functional guidance, training, and assistance to less experienced employees.
- Apply good judgment and effective communication in all interactions.
