About the role

This position serves as the primary receptionist for the Oregon Department of Forestry, located at the agency Headquarters in the Administration Building (Bldg. C). This position is the first point of public contact for the Department.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary receptionist for the Oregon Department of Forestry, handling incoming calls and visitors.
  • Supports other programs within administration to perform clerical duties, including but not limited to using MS office, copy machines, printers, fax machines, and other office equipment.
  • Works independently and collaborates with colleagues to ensure efficient office operations.
  • Engages positively with the public, answering questions, explaining information, regulations, and decisions.

Requirements

  • Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents.
  • An associate degree in any field.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong oral communications skills with a variety of people, answering questions and explaining information, regulations, and decisions.

Pay

Salary determination per the Pay Equity Law passed in 2017, a pay equity analysis will be conducted to determine the pay step for the successful candidate. The analysis will be based on the submitted materials and the time of application.

Schedule

The person selected for this position will be required to work in the office Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Remote work for this position is not available.
