About the role

The staff nurse provides patient care using the nursing process within a community medicine setting, ensuring adherence to professional standards with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and document findings in the EMR
• Evaluate and manage pain, educating patients and families
• Deliver age-appropriate care and assist providers with procedures
• Administer medications following the five rights and monitor for adverse effects
• Maintain current knowledge of medications and interpret EKG or cardiac tracings
• Prioritize patient care based on needs and available resources
• Perform technical and manual skills as required

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program
• Current New York State Nursing License
• BLS Certification
