About the School
Fiore Montessori School is an AMI-accredited Montessori school with communities spanning ages 3 months through 15 years, including Nido, Infant Community (Toddler), Primary Children’s House, Elementary (6-year span), and Adolescent Community. Located on two neighborhood campuses just 20 miles outside Washington, DC, our environments are beautifully designed and well-equipped with Nienhuis materials, featuring both wooded and grassy outdoor areas for student exploration. Responsibilities
- Daily Office Management
- Manage the front desk, including answering phones, responding to email, greeting visitors, and handling attendance and administrative tasks such as student files, licensing documentation, and medications.
- Order and store office supplies, cleaning supplies, and classroom groceries; monitor deliveries.
- Implement operational procedures and protocols, including emergency response plans, on-site inspections, and fire drills.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as school district policies.
- Event Planning and Execution
- Building and Grounds Maintenance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe school environment, ensuring common areas are well-kept and attractive for visitors.
- Enable timely repairs and replacements for breakdowns.
- Manage annual outdoor and indoor preventative maintenance and inspections.
- Serve as the point of contact for vendors and contractors; negotiate and ensure timely completion of work.
- Proactively prevent breakdowns, solve problems creatively, and ensure smooth campus operations.
- Oversee snow clearing, seasonal garden maintenance, daily janitorial service, technology needs (printers, laptops, internet), and one-off campus projects.
Requirements
- Experience in building maintenance and school operations or administrative/operations management.
- Experience in calendar management and event planning.
- Montessori or other school experience is preferred.
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills in English; Spanish skills are a bonus.
- Motivated individual with leadership, customer service, and hospitality skills.
- Reliable and consistent in work responsibilities.
