Responsibilities
- Call and accompany the patient from the waiting room to the exam room.
- Triage patient, obtaining a brief history, the reason for the visit, and other procedures needed to prepare the patient for the physician’s exam.
- Perform capillary/venipuncture.
- Perform audiograms and visual exams as required.
- Collect urine specimens from patients as needed.
- Performs and results strep tests as needed.
- Documents on the results of all lab procedures performed.
- Prepares and submits medical instruments for sterilization as needed.
- Cleans and sanitizes exam room between patients.
- Fills out forms (immunization, school, work, daycare, sports, WIC, etc.) as required.
- Reports any supplies needed for her immediate position to the supervisor.
- Maintain an orderly patient flow by helping direct the physician and coordinating the movement between the lab and x-ray.
- Performs and graphs peak flows.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3 or more years of Medical Assistant or Clinical Assistant experience in a healthcare setting.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, Day Shift, Monday-Friday Standard Days.
