About the role
The Maritime Safety Office (SFH) provides global maritime geospatial intelligence in support of national security objectives including safety of navigation (SoN), international obligations, and joint military operations. SFH prepares, compiles, publishes, distributes and maintains all related Maritime GEOINT databases, products, and services as mandated by SOLAS. SFH serves as the source for the issuance of authoritative worldwide maritime geospatial information, products, and services in support of global naval operations and safety of life at sea while managing all Maritime GEOINT production programs.
Responsibilities
- Support the Government through strategic communications, collaborative engagement and secretariat responsibilities.
- Actively engage with the community members and partners as directed by the Government.
- Support preparation of read-ahead material.
- Develop, prepare and edit minutes, reports, communications products, presentations, talking points and other communications products, as required, which integrate a common functional management message.
- Perform tracking and management of internal and external taskers.
- Prepare weekly tasker tracking reports for Source Leadership.
- Review taskers submissions from Source groups, review for quality and content in answering the questions and compile for a Source level response.
- Prepare Staff packages for the Source leadership in accordance to tasker guidelines.
- Generate and update spreadsheets/SharePoint, track deliverables; ensure all appropriate forms adhere to NGA/Source guidance and policy.
- Employs effective written and verbal communication skills to efficiently work with individuals at all levels.
- Perform office level operational support.
- Develop and manage Inter-Agency agreements.
Requirements
Demonstrated experience in using Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word and PowerPoint) and especially Microsoft Excel spreadsheets to be able to inter-relate and effectively present data metrics. Demonstrated experience in building complex formulas within Microsoft Excel to extract data from large spreadsheets. Demonstrated experience in verbal and written communication and coordination skills to effectively work with individuals at all levels. Demonstrated experience with Geospatial-Intelligence sources and methods, and systems/tools. Demonstrated experience with Adobe PDF software. Demonstrated experience with Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Teams. Demonstrated experience to work independently or with little supervision. Demonstrated written communication skills to support project execution.
