About the role
The Office Manager, OBH oversees the day-to-day business and staffing operations for Outpatient Behavioral Health at UMass Memorial Health - Harrington. This position supervises intake coordinators, implements processes, protocols, and other administrative activities, and ensures excellent customer service and quality behavioral health services.
Responsibilities
- Works with the Director of Operations in establishing policies and procedures, quality assurance information, inspection and compliance information, contracts, and licenses.
- Processes weekly payroll from OBH and submits to Payroll Department.
- Maintains Banked Earned Time to ensure staff compliance.
- Attends department meetings and in-service training programs/workshops to stay informed about relevant developments and changes.
- Makes recommendations on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and similar actions.
- Manages activities to ensure financial goals are met.
- Coordinates the assignment of tasks and resolves technical and operational problems.
- Evaluates the impact of solutions to ensure goals are achieved.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies such as Joint Commission, DPH, etc.
- Develops and maintains procedures necessary to meet regulatory requirements.
- Ensures that department complies with hospital established policies, quality assurance programs, safety, and infection control policies and procedures.
- Maintains adequate equipment and supplies for department.
- Ensures compliance to all health and safety regulations and requirements.
- Maintains regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
Qualifications
- Required: Associate’s degree required. Bachelor’s degree with emphasis on business related course of study preferred.
- Required: 5+ years of office experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Required: Skills/experience with business systems, office procedures, and experience in behavioral health field.
- Required: Minimum of 1 year experience with third-party insurance procedures relating to Behavioral Health.
