Qualifications

  • One year of college or technical school.
  • Must be able to supervise others.
  • Have ability to work in a positive flexible environment with a variety of people.
  • Two to three years of experience in secretarial-type duties.
  • Be proficient in computer applications and programs

Supervisor

  • Building-level Principal and/or Assistant Principal

Performance Responsibilities

  • Maintain an orderly system of filing and information retrieval for the building administration.
  • Transcribe and transmit in the most appropriate manner, the correspondence of the building administration.
  • Serve as the main liaison with the district office.
  • Collect and prepare materials for various meetings.
  • Attend meetings as requested.
  • Answer the telephone for the building administration.
  • Schedule appointments for the building administration.
  • Compare information or data with other records for verification and respond to requests for information for state reporting submission.
  • Operate word processors, computers, calculators, copiers, and facsimile machines.
  • Compose, prepare correspondence, and compute, classify, and transcribe data for the building administration.
  • Issue timely announcements of upcoming events and deadlines.
  • Maintain a record of student enrollment and daily attendance.
  • Cookordinate the processing of building usage requests.
  • Provide backup support for other support positions in the building office.
  • Perform and coordinate the scheduling and planning of refreshments for building-related events.
  • Run errands as needed.
  • Promote a professional attitude, appearance, and achievement of building and departmental objectives.
  • Develop curriculum documents as directed by the administration.
  • Aid with district assessment programs.
  • Cookordinate job vacancy and assignment information.
  • Aid with new staff orientation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions

  • Requires the ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods.
  • Occasionally requires the ability to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
  • Occasionally requires the ability to stoop, bend, and/or reach.
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors year-round.
  • Must be able to work in noisy and crowded environments.
  • Requires regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job.
