Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelors degree preferred
  • Two to three years of experience in Medicare/Medicaid billing or experience in management functions
  • Proficient in Microsoft office, the internet, e-mail and desktop navigation
  • Knowledge of or experience in accounting/bookkeeping
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage time, tasks, and files
  • Can type at least 40-50 words per minute
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Must be willing to obtain computer knowledge with hospice computer systems
  • At least one year experience in hospice preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Must be able to demonstrate flexibility by performing a variety of tasks
  • Home Care Home Base experience preferred

About the Role

St. Joseph Hospice is seeking a full-time Office Manager to join our patient care team in Shreveport, LA.

Responsibilities

As a full-time Office Manager, you will be responsible for managing the administrative operations of the office, including but not limited to:

  • Overseeing the daily operations of the office
  • Managing the financial aspects of the office, including billing and reimbursement processes
  • Coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth workflow
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Providing support to staff and patients as needed

Skills

Skills required for this position include:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and hospice care practices
