Key Responsibilities
- Perform all essential Medical Assistant functions including rooming patients, taking vitals, reviewing medical histories, and preparing patients for exams.
- Assist with diagnostic testing and procedures specific to allergy and asthma care, including skin testing, spirometry, immunotherapy injections, and biologic administration.
- Accurately document patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Administer allergy shots and medications under provider supervision and in accordance with protocol.
- Maintain clinical supply inventory and ensure proper stock rotation and compliance with storage standards.
- Provide patient education related to treatment plans, medication use, and follow-up care.
- Act as a team lead and first point of contact for clinical staff issues or workflow concerns.
- Support clinic manager with daily operational tasks including staff scheduling, coverage coordination, and performance oversight.
- Train, mentor, and assist in the onboarding of new Medical Assistants and clinical staff.
- Monitor adherence to clinical protocols, safety regulations, and quality control standards.
- Participate in staff evaluations and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant desired.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership or lead MA role preferred.
- Experience in an allergy/immunology setting preferred.
- Knowledge of EMR systems required.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds, assist with patient positioning, and handle clinical equipment.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
