Office/Finance Assistant Intern
Are you interested in accounting, finance, business, or public administration and looking for hands-on experience? The Joliet Public Library is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Business Office / Finance Assistant Intern to join our team.
About the role
In this role, you’ll gain practical experience supporting the day-to-day operations of a public library’s Business Office, with exposure to accounts payable, payroll, purchasing, financial recordkeeping, reporting, and general office administration. You’ll work closely with the Business Manager and have the opportunity to contribute to special projects and process-improvement initiatives.

Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Public Administration, or a related field
- Organized, dependable, and highly detail-oriented
- Comfortable working with numbers and spreadsheets
- A strong communicator who works well independently and as part of a team
- Eager to learn new software, systems, and procedures
- Able to handle confidential information with professionalism
Previous office, accounting, finance, customer service, or administrative experience is a plus, but a willingness to learn and grow is just as important.
