Position Responsibilities

  • Maintains daily input of charges, payments, and bank deposits.
  • Ensures timely resolution of billing system issues.
  • Monitors Practice Management reports and completes finance logs and billing reports.
  • Communicates and resolves VMG/IDX billing issues.
  • Supports physicians by typing correspondence, memos, and maintaining schedules.
  • Maintains practice PTO calendar, physician master schedules, and staff work schedules.
  • Acts as a liaison between physician and patient, obtaining pre-certifications and authorizations.
  • Manages vendor relationships to ensure practice appearance, functionality, and safety.
  • Conversant with OSHA and CLIA regulations.
  • Supports budget creation, expense monitoring, and financial reporting.
  • Orders and maintains office supplies.
  • Assists with BPR preparation for support staff.

Position Qualifications

  • 2+ years of medical office experience required.
  • 1-3 years of lead or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in ICD-9 CPT coding, Medicare regulations, state regulations, JCAHO, CLIA, DOH, and OSHA regulations.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • High School Graduate or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s degree preferred.
  • 4-year college degree a plus.
