Office Coordinator
SIMEDHealth is looking for an Office Coordinator to join our Lady Lake, FL office.
About the role
The Office Coordinator (OC) is a working supervisor who provides clinical and administrative support to physicians, mid-level providers, and support staff. The OC serves as a role model, promotes teamwork, integrity, and continuous practice improvement, and may supervise all patient services functions. The role ensures compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA regulations and maintains exemplary service and satisfaction standards. The OC is a highly visible "go-to" person responsible for creating a positive impression with staff, patients, family members, and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Assist with managerial functions as assigned
- Collaborate with front and back office staff to maintain consistent patient flow
- Train, coordinate, and orient new staff members
- Fill in and perform functions of supervised positions as needed
- Monitor staff hours and sign off on time cards
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA; provide training as needed
- Ensure compliance with all SIMED policies, procedures, and protocols
- Delegate duties and assignments for positive clinic operations
- Maintain petty cash, confirm and sign off on daily batches, and follow AR collection procedures
- Interact with A/R to resolve patient issues
- Oversee scanning of patient charts and documentation into patient records
- Monitor Intergy to ensure tasks are completed for patient care
- Assign tasks to team members to resolve patient issues
- Order clinic supplies as needed
- Serve as clinic representative in the absence of the Division Manager
- Attend required meetings
- Ensure clinic is prepared for daily operations (forms, supplies, etc.)
- Communicate clinical issues with Division Manager or supervisor
- Assist Division Manager in preparing physician credentialing
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- AA/AS Degree or higher preferred (experience may substitute for education)
- Professional appearance and communication skills (required)
- Intergy or other electronic health record experience (preferred)
- 3-5 years in a medical or hospital setting (required)
- 1-2 years in a supervisory role in a healthcare setting (required)
- Previous experience in a leadership position; ability to motivate others, display excellent communication skills, and be goal-oriented (required)
