Since 1969, Lakeside has been the premier provider of specialized behavioral health and addictive disease services in the Memphis and Mid-South region. The 365-bed facility is one of the largest free-standing psychiatric hospitals in the United States, located on a serene 37-acre campus in northeast Shelby County. We serve children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and seniors, treating disorders such as bipolar disorder, psychological trauma, depression, anxiety, mental illness, and addictive disease disorders including alcoholism, drug addiction, and substance abuse.

About the Role

The Office Coordinator provides clerical and general support to the assigned department, promoting the effective flow of information and managing office services in a manner that positively supports hospital operations. This role is consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Lakeside Behavioral Health System.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clerical and general administrative support to the assigned department.
  • Manage office services to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Facilitate effective communication and information flow within the department.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of office organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Apply diplomacy, flexibility, and telephone etiquette in daily interactions.
  • Utilize excellent business skills and familiarity with business formats for correspondence and files.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.
  • Perform tasks requiring basic math skills, excellent typing abilities, and strong attention to detail.
  • Apply advanced computer skills in daily responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate preferred knowledge of crisis intervention, risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses, symptomology, basic chemical dependency, age-specific growth and development, and crisis and behavior management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years’ administrative experience, preferably in a behavioral health care setting.
  • Proficiency in office organization, time management, and problem-solving.
  • Strong business communication skills and familiarity with business formats.
  • Excellent typing skills and attention to detail.
  • Advanced computer skills.
