Havertys Furniture is opening a new store in Pittsburgh on October 30, 2026. We’re seeking a passionate Office Coordinator to join our team in early October 2026. As a trusted name in the furniture industry for over 140 years, Havertys offers top-notch quality, value, and customer service. This role is key to delivering an outstanding customer experience in our retail locations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and perform all functions in the Guest Services Office, ensuring it is sufficiently staffed at all times.
- Communicate and train team members on changes to company policy and procedures for the Guest Services Office.
- Perform regular audits of store operations as outlined in the Quarterly Audit Checklist for one or more locations.
- Process accounts payable functions, including merchandise and expense invoices, RTVs, purchase orders, and special orders.
- Assist with inventory management and ensure daily bank deposits are made.
- Maintain office supplies and office machines.
- Handle customer complaints, initiate and follow up on customer service tickets.
- Create and process employee sales.
- Manage HR and payroll duties, including:
- Maintaining personnel information and processing I-9 verifications.
- Conducting new employee orientations.
- Processing bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and sales payroll.
- Reviewing payroll verification reports with the Market Manager.
- Answering questions regarding employee benefits and pay.
- Maintaining and approving time records for hourly team members.
- Assisting with performance reviews and discipline for all team members.
- Communicating information from the Home Office regarding payroll, benefits, and company policies.
- Ensuring HR posters, OSHA logs, and HAZCOM book are current and accounted for.
- Perform all duties defined for the Office Supervisor and Office Assistant roles.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One year of experience in an office environment preferred.
- One year of experience in a customer service role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and O365 preferred.
- Strong math skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work independently while using discretion.
- Highly organized with the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
