About the Role
Company Office Clerks provide administrative support to store locations, ensuring an exceptional customer service experience. Responsibilities include handling customer concerns, processing payments, and maintaining office operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with a focus on fast, friendly, and accurate service.
- Following store policies, security measures, and customer service standards.
- Responding to customer concerns in a manner consistent with store expectations.
- Processing customer payments for bills (e.g., AT&T, Cox, Entergy).
- Counting and balancing bill payment funds and preparing deposits.
- Counting and balancing all monies in the customer service office.
- Answering calls and transferring them to the appropriate department.
- Making announcements over the store intercom system.
- Handling returns and processing refunds in compliance with company standards.
- Processing lottery tickets and money order transactions.
- Complying with and enforcing safety and health standards.
- Identifying, correcting, and reporting unsafe conditions.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Operating a register during busy periods as needed.
- Performing additional duties as required.
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to prepare accurate and concise reports.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills (email, phone, text, in-person).
- Proficiency in computer skills and software management.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Experience with administrative and clerical duties.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including days, evenings, and weekends.
- Strong cash handling and balancing experience.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Discretion in handling sensitive or confidential information.
- Operating general office equipment (e.g., computers, printers).
Qualifications
- Experience in an administrative role (e.g., answering phones, filing, typing).
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Primarily indoor office setting with extended periods of sitting, standing, or walking.
- Requires eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity for operating office equipment.
- Lifting and carrying objects up to 25 pounds.
