About the role
The Office Assistant provides clerical and administrative support to assigned school site personnel, performs functions specific to site administrator assignments (e.g., career/college specialty), communicates information to staff and the public, maintains complete and accurate records, and provides information and direction as requested.
Responsibilities
- Answers telephone calls for the purpose of screening calls, transferring calls, responding to inquiries, and/or taking messages.
- Assists with processing documents, forms, mailings, and materials (e.g., attendance, enrollments) to disseminate information to appropriate parties.
- Attends department and/or in-service meetings to gather information required to perform functions.
- Collects payments for a variety of events (e.g., fines, fees, fundraisers) to complete transactions and secure funds.
- Distributes materials (e.g., mail, checks, supplies, messages) to ensure delivery to the addressee.
- Implements processes and projects (e.g., college and career procedures, site projects) to ensure the implementation of site activities and processes.
- Implements site processes (e.g., discipline issues, subject area assignments, safe space for students, bus coordination, substitute teachers) to provide up-to-date information and historical reference in accordance with established administrative guidelines and legal requirements.
- Maintains inventory of supplies and materials (e.g., forms, office supplies) to ensure items' availability.
- Monitors students referred for illness or disciplinary action (e.g., observing student behavior, collaborating with counselors) to ensure student welfare and maintain a secure office environment.
- Prepares standardized documents (e.g., form letters, memos, calendars, bulletins) to communicate information to other parties.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Requirements
- Age 16 or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Job-related experience is desired.

$14.64 per hour
