We are looking for a dependable part-time Office Assistant to support daily administrative operations for a manufacturing company in Neptune, New Jersey. This long-term contract opportunity is expected to run approximately 4 to 6 months.
About the role
This position is ideal for someone who brings strong organizational habits and a steady approach to managing a busy office environment. The person in this role will help reduce a backlog of administrative work while serving as a welcoming and responsive point of contact for visitors and callers.
Responsibilities
- Greet visitors and provide front-desk support to ensure the office operates in an organized and detail-oriented manner.
- Manage incoming phone calls, direct inquiries to the appropriate team members, and relay messages accurately.
- Scan, file, and organize business documents so records remain accessible and up to date.
- Assist with general clerical tasks such as data entry, document preparation, and routine administrative follow-up.
- Help address accumulated office work by prioritizing assignments and completing time-sensitive tasks efficiently.
- Maintain orderly office records and support smooth day-to-day communication across the team.
Requirements
- Previous experience in an office support, receptionist, or administrative role.
- Ability to handle inbound calls effectively and communicate clearly with internal and external contacts.
- Comfortable performing document scanning, filing, and other record-management tasks with accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple clerical duties with minimal supervision.
- Reliable attendance and a detail-oriented, experienced approach to workplace responsibilities.
- Basic computer proficiency and confidence working with standard office equipment and software.
