About the role

We are looking for a dependable Office Assistant to support daily operations at a secure testing environment. This is a Long-term Contract position expected to run for 2 to 3 months, offering a steady schedule of 35 to 40 hours per week with workdays that may fall between Monday and Saturday. The person in this role will help create an organized, detail-focused, and welcoming experience for test takers while ensuring procedures are followed carefully. Success in this position requires strong customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to stay calm in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome candidates upon arrival, confirm their identity, and guide them through the check-in process with courtesy.
  • Conduct test center security procedures, including screening protocols and the use of handheld security devices when required.
  • Observe exam sessions through regular room checks and active monitoring to help maintain compliance and a secure testing environment.
  • Respond promptly to candidate concerns, resolve routine issues when possible, and escalate exceptions in a timely manner.
  • Support basic troubleshooting for testing equipment and candidate workstations to minimize disruptions during exam delivery.
  • Handle sensitive testing materials and records with care, ensuring all procedures are followed to protect exam integrity.
  • Complete administrative support tasks during slower testing periods, including scanning, clerical work, and general front desk assistance.
  • Document incidents accurately and report any activity that falls outside established testing standards or policies.
  • Assist with fingerprint scanning and other identity verification steps when those procedures apply at the site.
  • Help with light equipment handling, packing, unpacking, and other operational tasks needed to keep the office and testing areas ready for use.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional college coursework is helpful.
  • At least 1 year of face-to-face customer service experience in settings such as retail, hospitality, restaurant, or similar environments is required.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with candidates, coworkers, and site leadership.
  • Comfortable working in a busy, process-driven environment that requires multitasking and sound judgment.
  • Proficiency with Windows-based computer systems and common office applications, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and web browsers.
  • Able to prepare accurate written notes, reports, and correspondence related to daily operations and candidate interactions.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, walk frequently, remain standing or seated for extended periods, and lift up to 40 pounds as needed.
  • Capable of moving through testing rooms regularly, monitoring screens and camera views, and working safely around office and lab equipment in tight spaces.

Schedule

  • Saturdays are required.
