Full-time position (40 hours per week) located at the corporate office in Edinburg, TX. Reports to the Office Manager.
Responsibilities
- Provides superior quality customer service and a positive experience for all North Alamo Water Supply Corporation customers and visitors.
- Assists in various areas of the Corporate Office as needed.
- Delivers and picks up work and correspondence between business facilities and other vendors; maintains the courier car, ensuring it is clean and serviced timely.
- Directs customer calls to the appropriate individual or department by gathering account number, name, service location, meter number, and reason for the call.
- Resolves customer issues immediately or escalates to a different department or supervisor when necessary.
- Enters detailed notes on customer accounts regarding call reasons and resolutions.
- Sorts and distributes incoming mail; applies postage to outgoing mail parcels.
- Reviews locked account lists to verify payments and unlock accounts if applicable.
- Processes end-of-day cut-off lists each morning to confirm payments and creates work orders to remove accounts from locked status.
- Sorts meter reader work orders into sealed and not sealed categories to apply appropriate service charges and update account notations.
- Opens and posts incoming mail payments, verifying transaction accuracy.
- Directs customer service complaints to the Office Manager and employee-related complaints to the Director of Human Resources.
- Collects plat and review fees for subdivisions as needed.
- Assists in the Teller area by processing money orders, checks, or credit card payments for customer accounts daily, ensuring accurate and timely transactions per corporate policies.
- Handles customer/tenant requests for information (e.g., account balances, address changes) and complaints.
- Observes all safety standards and precautions.
- Participates in job-specific and required corporate training programs.
- Complies with federal and state regulations and all established corporate policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least six months of experience in a retail or fast food service industry.
- Valid Texas driver license and a good driving record.
- Must be at least 25 years old and insurable in the state of Texas.
- Strong customer relations and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in typing, PC, 10-key calculator, multi-line console, and handling large quantities of currency.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Good problem-solving skills, solid decision-making, effective communication, and strong prioritization and organization abilities.
- Ability to maintain mental concentration despite frequent interruptions and a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Position may be mentally and physically stressful; requires standing for most of the workday and lifting, carrying, or moving heavy boxes or bags of currency and coin weighing up to 25 pounds.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
