Office Assistant
AHA’s mission is to develop and promote quality housing while supporting and encouraging economic opportunities leading to self-sufficiency and independence. We provide affordable or subsidized housing at 15 properties, administer approximately 1,700 vouchers, and offer a variety of programs with case management. About the role
Performs a broad range of administrative tasks in support of the Assisted Housing Staff. Provides back-up coverage to the Receptionist. Maintains the overall filing system for the Department and assists staff with filing. Provides assistance and program information to applicants in person and over the phone, including help with completing forms. Responds to applicant and participant inquiries and works to resolve concerns regarding program services.
Responsibilities
- Perform administrative functions including filing, faxing, and copying
- Assist in the preparation and tracking of applicant and participant paperwork
- Relieve the Receptionist for breaks, lunch, and as needed
- Maintain department on-site and off-site filing systems
- Process incoming and outgoing mail
Requirements
- Solid knowledge of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations
- Excellent customer service skills; ability to remain respectful and solutions-oriented at all times
- Solid computer skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel and the general public
- Expert filing skills
- Up to three months of on-the-job training to perform the job effectively
Equipment utilized
- Word processing equipment, personal computer, scanners, letter folding machine, and digital copier/printer
- Standard office software (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access)

Pay
$20.00 – $22.00/hour, depending on experience.
