About the role
The Department of Human Services (DHS) plays a critical role in developing policies, providing essential services, and improving the well-being and quality of life for all Minnesotans. This position is based in the Financial Operations Division (FOD) Receipt Center, where you will receive and prepare daily payments for deposit. Payments are processed for programs throughout DHS and the following state agencies:
- Department of Public Safety
- Pollution Control Agency
- Minnesota Management and Budget (SEGIP premium payments)
- Department of Labor and Industry
- Direct Care and Treatment
- Department of Children, Youth and Families
- MNsure
Responsibilities
- Open and prepare daily mail for processing
- Process daily receipts
- Prepare daily bank deposits
Requirements
To facilitate proper crediting, ensure your resume clearly describes your experience in the following areas and indicates the beginning and ending month, day, and year for each job held.
- Customer service skills sufficient to provide prompt, courteous, and accurate information to internal and external stakeholders via email, in person, or over the phone
- Database, Documents, and Records Management skills sufficient to input and access information in computer systems and assemble and complete documents
- Typing/Keyboarding skills sufficient to accurately type information into various formats
- Math skills sufficient to balance, calculate, and match numbers
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience processing checks in a payment center/lockbox environment or at a Credit Union/Bank/Financial Institution
- Experience with high-volume workloads
- Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures
Additional Requirements
- DHS will conduct reference checks to verify job-related credentials and a criminal background check prior to appointment
Pay
$20.68 - $25.85 hourly; $43,179 - $53,974 annually
