Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC) is an international network of youth development programs headquartered in Kansas City, MO. YVC engages youth ages 11-18 in team-based service experiences that build life and work skills while inspiring a lifetime ethic of service. Since 1987, over 330,000 YVC youth volunteers have served over 5 million hours in their local communities!
Position Summary
YVC is entering a period of exciting growth, expanding to 20 new cities around the world in 2026! This is a multi-faceted role at YVC Headquarters that supports our growing organization and a need for a central person to coordinate various administrative and human resources functions. Special projects and responsibilities will be given based on candidate strengths.
Location and Culture
YVC's headquarters is in a beautifully restored home built in 1874 in the Quality Hill District of downtown Kansas City. Inside this house, you'll find energy, enthusiasm, a supportive team, and loyalty to the idea that youth service can change the world. The schedule will be hybrid (office 2 days and remote 3 days) after 90 days of in-person onboarding.

Primary Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Payroll
- Receive and process donations and deposits
- Create invoices and checks
- Handle credit card receipts
- Use payroll software to review timesheets and prepare semi-monthly payroll
- Assist in working with state and federal entities for any withholding tax issues
- Manage employee PTO
- Assist with collecting documents for the annual audit
Administrative Responsibilities
- Serve as office manager for the organization, including coordinating with vendors for facility and technology needs, handling mail, answering phones, ordering supplies, developing staff meeting agendas, and keeping YVC organized
- Assist with administrative tasks related to health/dental/vision/life insurance plans and retirement plan
- Support YVCHQ's annual Summit conference. Specific assignments are given to each YVCHQ team member based upon role and strengths. You will play a key role in the administrative tasks related to the conference
Human Resources
- Post job ads for open positions
- Schedule interviews
- Support management in hiring decisions
- Complete background checks and hiring paperwork
- Coordinate new employee onboarding and orientation
Executive Support
- Support CEO and VP of Operations by assisting with ad hoc projects
- Provide support for Board of Directors meetings
Qualifications
- Well-developed administrative skills outlined in the "What We're Looking For" section
- Proficient with Microsoft office products, general technology, and data management
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting system preferred
- Human resources experience (posting, hiring, managing, performance management) preferred but not required
- Be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident alien
Reporting
Reports to the Vice President of Operations.
Compensation
For full-time, the starting salary range for this position is $42,000-$48,000 and will be dependent upon experience and skillset. Part-time compensation will be calculated accordingly.

Work Arrangements
After initial 90-day onboarding and establishment of relationships, flexible work arrangements including a hybrid remote situation are a possibility if desired. Expect to travel at least once per year for our annual conference (~5-6 days).
