Offensive Cyber Network Operations (CNO) Instructor

About the role

Roka Security, LLS is seeking an Offensive Cyber Network Operations (CNO) Instructor and Curriculum Developer to join our team of highly regarded Technical Operations training staff. This role involves developing and delivering an Offensive CNO training program to United States Government (USG) customers, mentoring the next generation of Cyber Network Operators, and collaborating on cutting-edge tactics and technologies for future course iterations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver an Offensive CNO training program, including lectures and hands-on lab lessons for USG customers.
• Mentor and guide tactical and strategic Cyber Network Operators using real-world experience and examples.
• Collaborate with customers to incorporate relevant, cutting-edge tactics and technologies into course material.
• Work with the Roka Security team to develop and deliver other advanced technical operations courses.

Requirements

General Requirements:

• Position is based in Ft. Bragg, NC, with remote work options while not teaching.
• Travel up to 10% may be required.
• Ability to obtain a Top Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Basic Technical Requirements:

• 4+ years of journeyman-level experience in offensive cyber operations, penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, or red team operations.
• Experience with industry-standard tools (Metasploit, Nessus, Core Impact, Burp).
• In-depth knowledge of attacks, including session hijacking, sniffing, DDoS, MITM, password-based, and application-layer attacks.
• Clear understanding of application, network, infrastructure, and data security.
• Experience with honeypot, IDS/IPS, and firewall evasion.
• Experience with Windows and Linux command-line interfaces.
• Experience with routers, firewalls, and VPN tunneling technologies.
• Experience with cloud and virtualization technologies.
• Basic familiarity with scripting and coding (Python, bash).
• Basic familiarity with digital forensics and anti-forensics techniques.
• Comfortable delivering classes as a solo instructor or as part of a team.

Preferred Technical Requirements:

• 4+ years as an Offensive Security Expert.
• 3+ years as a cyber curriculum developer and/or instructor.
• Graduate of a USG offensive cyber operations course.
• Advanced knowledge of networking systems and security software.
• Experience with malware reverse engineering.
• Scripting capabilities for creating custom scripts to identify/exploit vulnerabilities.
• OSCP, GPEN, CPT, or equivalent penetration testing certification.
• RHCSA, LPIC-3, or equivalent Linux certification.
• Previous experience within the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, or Federal Bureau of Investigation.
