Off Shift Maintenance Team Member

Responsibilities

  • Perform planned maintenance for production equipment.
  • Analyze machine failures for trends and implement countermeasures to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Respond to immediate downtime for production equipment and facilitate repair with department.
  • Manage work activity and spare parts using JD Edwards system.
  • Conduct visual monthly checks on equipment.
  • Maintain awareness and understanding of environmental policies, management system, and objectives by attending required training.
  • Perform all tasks in accordance with EMS procedures and practices to minimize environmental impact.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Industrial Maintenance or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use shop tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of team members.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office systems (Excel and Word) is a plus.
  • Experience using JD Edwards is a plus.

Skills

  • Apply basic math functions to solve workplace problems, including percentage, rate, ratio, decimal, and proportion calculations.
  • Create and interpret basic graphs and charts commonly used in manufacturing.
  • Calculate rotational velocity equations (RPMs), speeds, feeds, and horsepower requirements for machining.
  • Apply common sense to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, wet and/or humid conditions, and extreme heat.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Schedule

Full-time position with the following shift options:

  • First Shift: 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Second Shift: 2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. or 4:30 p.m. – 1:00 a.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Third Shift: 10:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

Occasional overtime throughout the week and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
