About the role
Four-Legged Fun Zone is seeking an Off-Leash Dog Group Handler who has already demonstrated proficiency in supervising groups of dogs in a professional setting.
Responsibilities
- Professionally supervise or co-supervise at least 40 off-leash groups of 8 or more dogs lasting at least 60 continuous minutes within the past three months, where supervising the dogs was one of your primary responsibilities.
- Manage group interactions, redirect inappropriate behavior, and make real-time safety decisions.
- Lead structured groups of 10–15 dogs, not stand in overcrowded groups of 30+ hoping nothing goes wrong.
- Work a predictable Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no weekends, on-call shifts, or last-minute schedule changes.
- Progress from learning the Four-Legged Fun Zone handling system to leading your own small group after demonstrating the required skills.
- Work with consistent groups of dogs attending on regular schedules and completing a structured introduction process before joining established groups.
- Enjoy a dedicated break area during lunch to step away from the dogs and recharge.
Qualifications
- Held at least one paid animal-care position for 12 consecutive months or longer within the past three years.
- Live within 30 minutes of our Everett facility.
- Able to stand and walk throughout the shift while confidently handling dogs weighing up to 150 pounds.
Pay
Base Pay: $20/hour during training
Daily Group Bonus: $2.50 per dog/day (12–13 dogs) or $5.00 per dog/day (14–15 dogs)
Typical Earnings: $23–$29/hour
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
No weekends, on-call shifts, or last-minute schedule changes.
