About the Role

Tryfacta is seeking a OET CCIE for our client in Baltimore City, Maryland. This is a temporary contract assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the OET in network architecture and design, including scalability and capacity planning, hardware evaluation and selection, and designing effective efficient infrastructure solutions to meet various MDH needs
  • Configure, test, and deploy Cisco network infrastructure equipment
  • Maintain the MDH Cisco Catalyst Center environment
  • Configure, update, administer, and troubleshoot FirePower appliances
  • Configure, update, administer, and troubleshoot Cisco Client
  • Ensure that all MDH network infrastructure components meet HIPAA, State of Maryland and MDH network security requirements
  • Lead large-scale migrations or hardware refresh projects from start to finish
  • Coach junior and mid-level engineers to improve their technical skills
  • Provide technical input for the annual IT budget
  • Act as final point of escalation for network issues
  • Use available monitoring tools to identify bottlenecks and optimize traffic flow
  • Work with MDH OET Disaster Recovery SME to help create and test failover strategies to ensure maximum availability

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, or other related scientific or technical discipline (Master's degree preferred)
  • At least six (6) years of experience in systems engineering
  • At least three (3) years of experience in the supervision of system engineers
  • Demonstrated use of interactive, interpretive systems with on-line, real-time acquisition capabilities
  • Current Enterprise CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure certification
  • Knowledge and experience in: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, VPC, STP, IPsec, SSL/TLS, zero trust architecture, Cisco Nexus, Cloud Connectivity (Direct Connect, ExpressRoute), VoIP protocols (SCCP, SIP, H.323, MGCP, RTP, SRTP, QSIG), Cisco ASA, FirePower, Client, AnyConnect, QoS, Infrastructure as Code (Cisco Catalyst Center, Terraform), monitoring tools (SolarWinds, NetFlow, Catalyst Center, SNMP), and troubleshooting routing, switching, security, performance tuning across all layers of the OSI Model
  • Ability to drive to all MDH locations located across the 24 local jurisdictions within Maryland
  • Must pass MDH required background check
  • Must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement after selection and prior to start of work

Schedule

Regular working hours are Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm. Because MDH OET supports 24/7/365 patient care environments, working outside of regular work hours and on weekends, both scheduled and unscheduled, will be required.
