Job Summary
The OEM Field Service Technician 1 is responsible for inspecting and fixing small visual imperfections in customer equipment to guarantee a perfect product. Responsibilities may also include troubleshooting, maintenance, training, and consulting.
- Perform point-to-point checks to ensure all connections are properly established and functioning.
- Ensure all electrical connections meet quality and safety standards.
- Read Schematics
- Interpret and understand wiring schematics to accurately perform installations and repairs.
- Utilize wiring schematics for troubleshooting purposes.
- Wire Whiskers Inspection
- Inspect wire whiskers for any defects or irregularities to guarantee a perfect product.
- Address any defects found.
- Terminate Wires
- Properly terminate wires as per the specifications to ensure safe and reliable operation of equipment.
- Excel Work
- Utilize Excel to manage and track progress, data, and reports related to ongoing projects.
Attributes/Abilities
- Must have a satisfactory background/MVR check.
- Must pass a pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, and/or random drug test.
- A positive attitude that inspires teamwork and productivity.
- Technical proficiency in reading wire schematics and basic electrical wiring techniques.
- Eagerness to learn and the ability to quickly acquire new skills and knowledge.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to efficiently communicate with the General Forman and team members.
- Dependable and consistent in fulfilling job responsibilities and completing complex tasks.
Experience And Education
- A high school diploma/GED, trade school or technical school certificate or diploma required.
- 1-3 years of electrical experience as a data center maintenance technician.
- A relevant certification preferred: technician license, NETA 1, OSHA 10.
- Experience with power distribution system equipment - low and medium (480V-48kV).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work safely around electrical and mechanical hazards.
- Potential exposure to various conditions, including dirt, heat, fumes, smoke, water, noise, vibration, grease, oil, and dust.
- Ability and willingness to work occasional overtime as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- May require occasional travel.
Qualifications
