About the role

The role involves leading the Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) team within the CIO organization. This position requires a security clearance and is based in Bethesda, Maryland.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the ISSO team
• Develop and implement security policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with all relevant security regulations and standards
• Conduct regular security audits and assessments
• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure secure data handling practices
• Manage the security budget and resource allocation
• Provide guidance and support to team members on security best practices

Requirements

• At least a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a security-related role
• Active Top Secret clearance
• Experience managing a team of security professionals
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
