Ocotillo Technology Fabrication Litho Module Engineer
About the role
Intel Foundry is increasing its investment in lithography metrology technology, implementing a new Win It Inline initiative using advanced real-time monitoring to improve yield learning cycles. The Ocotillo Technology Fabrication (OTF) Module Engineer role is multifaceted. The ideal candidate will have a passion for instrumentation and equipment with the goal of developing a robust manufacturable process module. As an OTF Module Engineer, you will play an important role in the OTF engineering team, owning all aspects of one or more of the factory's 300mm toolsets.
Responsibilities
- Define roadmaps to meet requirements, goals, and milestones for a new technology process.
- Define and establish flow, procedures, and equipment configuration for the module.
- Select and develop material and equipment for the process to meet quality, yield, reliability, cost, productivity, and manufacturability requirements.
- Plan and conduct experiments to fully characterize the process throughout the development cycle.
- Drive improvements on quality, yield, reliability, process stability/capability, productivity, and safety/ergonomic over variables such as material, method, equipment, environment, and operating personnel.
- Develop solutions to problems utilizing formal education, statistical knowledge, and problem-solving tools.
- Establish process control systems for the process module and sustain the module through volume ramp.
- Train production/receiving process engineers for transfer to other factories.
- Transfer process to high-volume manufacturing and provide support in new factory start-up, as well as install and qualification of new production lines.
- Sustain responsibilities including safety and cleanliness of your area, ensuring copy-exact for your toolset, and reviewing relevant control charts and tool output daily to keep your toolset and layers excursion-free.
- Deliver MOR availability and achieve 100 percent matching for all relevant operations.
- Lead tool installations, conversions, qualifications, new product introduction, and sustained matching performance for new technology start-ups.
- Drive continuous improvement in the health and matching of your toolset(s) by maintaining and driving an improvement roadmap.
- Lead your tools and area to achieve record tool availability, cycle time, and record low defect densities in support of OTF's factory goals.
- Support toolset needs as an on-shift engineer (OSE), which may require working day or night shifts and a flexible schedule.
Requirements
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Relevant experience can be obtained through schoolwork, classes and project work, internships, military training, and/or work experience.
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field with 2+ years of semiconductor or metrology experience OR Master's degree in a STEM-related field.
Qualifications
- Semiconductor Foundry experience is a plus.
- Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.
- Clean room experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in the Litho functional area.
- Exceptional customer orientation.
- Strong knowledge of statistics and experimental design; ability to apply that knowledge to tool matching, tool qualification, and process development.
- Ability to work across organizational boundaries including process engineering, integration, and yield.
- Good communication skills with a high tolerance for ambiguous and changing situations.

Pay
Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $89,010.00 - $170,630.00 USD. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Schedule
This role requires an on-site presence and may include working day or night shifts as an on-shift engineer (OSE) to support toolset needs, with a flexible schedule.
