About the role

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife seeks an Ocean Resiliency Project Leader (Natural Resource Specialist 3) to lead and support ocean resiliency efforts, particularly in relation to fisheries and ecosystem health.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support ocean resiliency initiatives, including convening and activities of Oregon’s Ocean Acidification and Hypoxia Coordination (OAH) Council and Co-Chairs (ODFW and OSU).
  • Prepare and draft technical reports, action plans, and policy documents relevant to ocean resiliency and Senate Bill 1039 mandate goals.
  • May require use of a state issued credit card (SPOTS) for work-related purchases.

Requirements

  • Six years of biological/ecological/oceanographic experience performing studies, research, or resource management activities in a fish or marine program, including one year at a technical or professional level.
  • Three years of biological/ecological/oceanographic experience, including one year at a technical or professional level, with a Bachelor's degree in Fisheries or Wildlife Science, Marine Biology, Marine Ecology, Biological Oceanography, Marine Fisheries Management/Science, or a closely-related field.
  • Two years of biological/ecological/oceanographic experience, including one year at a technical or professional level, with a Master's degree in Fisheries or Wildlife Science, Marine Biology, Marine Ecology, Biological Oceanography, Marine Fisheries Management/Science, or a closely-related field.
  • One year of biological/ecological/oceanographic experience at a technical or professional level, with a Doctorate degree in Fisheries or Wildlife Science, Marine Biology, Marine Ecology, Biological Oceanography, Marine Fisheries Management/Science, or a closely-related field.

Pay and Schedule

The salary range for this position is $5,458 - $8,352 per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
