About the Role

An Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) administers patient-centered rehabilitative care across inpatient or outpatient settings. Working under a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT), the OTA implements structured treatment plans, guides patients through therapeutic exercises, and tracks functional daily living progress.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct, age-specific therapeutic treatments and exercises to help patients regain functional independence.
• Execute intervention strategies outlined by the supervising OT, including motor skills training and adaptive device instruction.
• Document patient response and status changes, reporting updates directly to the clinical team.
• Teach patients, families, and caregivers safe home techniques and adaptive daily living strategies.
• Maintain a safe environment and follow organizational infection control and fire safety rules.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
• Active state license or certification (OTA/COTA) and a clear background.
• Minimum of 1 year of work experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and frequently assist, move, or carry patients and equipment.
