Responsibilities
- Implements treatment plans established by the Occupational Therapist; and through consideration of practice standards, recommended techniques, insurance guidelines, and patient needs.
- Uses appropriate therapy procedures, documents data, and follows individualized care plans set by the occupational therapist.
- Provides patient and family education, including home exercise programs for treatment carryover into the discharge setting.
- Supports consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures, and other extensions of clinical expertise to the community.
- Conducts age-appropriate assessments and interventions, completing annual age-specific competencies relevant to the scope of care.
- Acts as a clinical instructor and provides mentorship to students and new staff, fostering a supportive and educational environment.
- Engages in ongoing review of occupational therapy and rehab policies and procedures, making recommendations for updates as needed.
- Documents interventions and patient progress accurately, completely, and timely using measurable and objective terminology in line with standards of practice, insurance guidelines, and department/hospital policies and procedures.
- Maintains productivity standards as defined by the department and adjusts work hours to meet the needs of the patients as required.
- Ensures patient safety and adheres to hospital and departmental policies and procedures, including infection control, equipment training, and safety programs.
- Participates in performance improvement initiatives and educational events to maintain clinical competencies and adhere to professional and evidence-based practices.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA)
- National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification preferred
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS)

This facility offers entry level pay starting at $26/hr.
