Occupational Therapy Assistant Instructor

Responsibilities
- Deliver class instruction according to an approved curriculum using accepted and effective teaching methods.
- Develop daily lesson plans; advise, remediate, and tutor students; maintain current and accurate attendance and grade records.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional growth activities in the respective field, and two (2) in-service training sessions annually.
- Participate in college activities such as in-services, faculty meetings, student functions, graduation exercises, open houses, new student orientations, and advisory board meetings.
- Strive for student success by providing quality instruction resulting in students' achievement of academic goals, retention, and preparation for entry-level positions in the healthcare field.
Requirements
- Three (3) years of occupational (i.e. practical) experience in the subject field in which they teach.
- A minimum of a baccalaureate degree awarded by an institution accredited by a USDE-recognized regional or national accrediting body. Master's degree in healthcare field preferred.
- A current Occupational Therapy Practitioner license (or eligibility for licensure) in California.
- Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or an Occupational Therapist (OTR/L).
- A current CPR Card.

Skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications are essential. Proficiency in relevant software and technology tools may also be required.
