About the role

The Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) position at Riverside Health System involves preparing clinical and progress notes, participating in teaching patients and families, and attending in-service programs and case conferences. Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, the COTA will implement the treatment plan, perform COTA procedures, and assist in restoring function, improving mobility, relieving pain, and preventing or limiting permanent physical disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Completes documentation that supports skilled intervention and adherence to the plan of care.
  • Follows the plan of care and performs COTA procedures as allowed by referral to aid in restoring function, improving mobility, relieving pain, and preventing or limiting permanent physical disabilities.
  • Participates in training and support of all team members, volunteers, and students as needed.
  • Attends facility meetings, departmental meetings, in-services, educational programs, and other meetings to include solutions and engagement with resolution processes.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant (Required)
  • Graduate from an Occupational Therapy Assistant Program (Required)
  • One year of healthcare experience (Preferred)

Qualifications

  • Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy Inc (NBCOT) upon hire (Required)
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) upon hire (Required)
  • Valid Drivers License required to drive for RHS business 25% or more of the time (Required)

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care.
  • Knowledge of principles of growth and development throughout the life span.
  • Able to assess patients' needs and status by analyzing evaluated data.
  • Interpret information to identify age-specific needs and provide appropriate care accordingly per patient care setting.

Pay

Hiring range is $38.00 - $42.00 hourly. Actual pay is determined by program, work commitment, and business needs.

Schedule

This position requires flexibility with daily scheduling and may involve working in various patient care settings.
