About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join our in-house team of outstanding professionals. In this role, you will provide person-centered care to help residents achieve positive outcomes and improve their independence and quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and administer occupational therapy treatments to residents and patients with temporary or long-term disabilities to relieve pain, restore or improve function, and promote healing.
  • Provide skilled occupational therapy services and interventions in accordance with physician orders under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
  • Respond to requests for service by relaying information and referrals to the Occupational Therapist.
  • Ensure all treatments are delivered in accordance with the established plan of care.
  • Provide clinical support and instruction to patients, families, and caregivers.
  • Monitor patient response to treatment interventions and report changes as appropriate.
  • Complete required documentation thoroughly and timely in accordance with company policy and state/federal regulations.
  • Attend required meetings as designated by the Director of Rehab.

Requirements

  • Active and valid Texas Occupational Therapy Assistant license.
  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required.
  • In good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards.
  • Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Long-term Care experience preferred.
  • Current knowledge of occupational therapy treatment practices.
  • Experience with Net Health Electronic Documentation System preferred.
  • Ability to manage patients with varying personalities and needs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
