About the role
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join our in-house team of outstanding professionals. In this role, you will provide person-centered care to help residents achieve positive outcomes and improve their independence and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Plan and administer occupational therapy treatments to residents and patients with temporary or long-term disabilities to relieve pain, restore or improve function, and promote healing.
- Provide skilled occupational therapy services and interventions in accordance with physician orders under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
- Respond to requests for service by relaying information and referrals to the Occupational Therapist.
- Ensure all treatments are delivered in accordance with the established plan of care.
- Provide clinical support and instruction to patients, families, and caregivers.
- Monitor patient response to treatment interventions and report changes as appropriate.
- Complete required documentation thoroughly and timely in accordance with company policy and state/federal regulations.
- Attend required meetings as designated by the Director of Rehab.
Requirements
- Active and valid Texas Occupational Therapy Assistant license.
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required.
- In good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards.
- Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Long-term Care experience preferred.
- Current knowledge of occupational therapy treatment practices.
- Experience with Net Health Electronic Documentation System preferred.
- Ability to manage patients with varying personalities and needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
