Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA, OTA, Acute) - Inpatient Geriatric Unit

About the Role

Join Connecticut’s most comprehensive healthcare network as an Occupational Therapy Assistant within the Greater Manchester Region, which serves 300,000 people across 19 towns. This region includes Manchester Memorial Hospital (249 beds), Rockville General Hospital (102 beds), a large multispecialty provider group, and visiting nurse services. You will report directly to the Lead Occupational Therapist and provide direct clinical services on the Behavioral Health Unit for both adolescents and adults.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate therapeutic groups and activities under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
• Provide individual and group treatment based on the treatment plan and unit needs.
• Collaborate closely with the Occupational Therapist to ensure interventions are appropriate, patient-centered, and aligned with current best practices.
• Contribute to a caring and compassionate environment through respect, teamwork, and communication.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• National Occupational Therapist Assistant Certification and Connecticut COTA license required.
• Training in PMT (Preventive Management of Aggressive Behavior) and de-escalation techniques; certification required within 6 months of hire.
