About the Role

Support residents' rehabilitation needs within a skilled nursing facility by assisting Occupational Therapists and promoting independence in activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, and overall well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Occupational Therapists in implementing treatment programs.
  • Enhance residents' activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, and independence.
  • Document therapy sessions and resident progress.
  • Participate in care plan and interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Recommend environmental modifications and adaptive equipment.
  • Educate residents and caregivers on therapy-related topics.
  • Maintain therapy supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with facility policies and documentation standards.

Requirements

  • Current COTA license in good standing with the NYS Board of Education.
  • Certification through AOTCB (NBCOT).
  • Preferred experience in skilled nursing or rehabilitation settings.
  • Knowledge of MDS, PRI, and care planning is advantageous.
