About the Role
Support residents' rehabilitation needs within a skilled nursing facility by assisting Occupational Therapists and promoting independence in activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, and overall well-being.
Responsibilities
- Assist Occupational Therapists in implementing treatment programs.
- Enhance residents' activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, and independence.
- Document therapy sessions and resident progress.
- Participate in care plan and interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Recommend environmental modifications and adaptive equipment.
- Educate residents and caregivers on therapy-related topics.
- Maintain therapy supplies and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with facility policies and documentation standards.
Requirements
- Current COTA license in good standing with the NYS Board of Education.
- Certification through AOTCB (NBCOT).
- Preferred experience in skilled nursing or rehabilitation settings.
- Knowledge of MDS, PRI, and care planning is advantageous.
