Occupational Therapy Assistant, Certified

About the Role

A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) working within a skilled nursing facility to support residents' independence and quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Assist Occupational Therapists in implementing individualized treatment programs.
• Provide therapy services to enhance activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, and functional independence.
• Document therapy sessions and monitor resident progress accurately.
• Participate in care plan and interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Recommend adaptive equipment and environmental modifications as needed.
• Educate residents and caregivers on therapy techniques and treatment plans.
• Maintain therapy supplies, equipment, and treatment areas in compliance with policies.

Requirements

• Current COTA license in good standing with the NYS Board of Education.
• Certification through AOTCB required.
• Experience in skilled nursing or rehabilitation settings preferred.
• Knowledge of MDS, PRI, and care planning is advantageous.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
