About the Role
A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) working within a skilled nursing facility to support residents' independence and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Assist Occupational Therapists in implementing individualized treatment programs.
- Provide therapy services to enhance activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, and functional independence.
- Document therapy sessions and monitor resident progress accurately.
- Participate in care plan and interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Recommend adaptive equipment and environmental modifications as needed.
- Educate residents and caregivers on therapy techniques and treatment plans.
- Maintain therapy supplies, equipment, and treatment areas in compliance with policies.
Requirements
- Current COTA license in good standing with the NYS Board of Education.
- Certification through AOTCB required.
- Experience in skilled nursing or rehabilitation settings preferred.
- Knowledge of MDS, PRI, and care planning is advantageous.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
