About the role

HealthMark Rehabilitation is an in-house therapy company serving Skilled Nursing Facility patients and residents of HMG facilities. We are seeking PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) to treat residents and short-term patients at our Smoky Hill location in Salina, Kansas (1007 Johnstown Ave, Salina, KS 67401). Availability on weekdays and weekends is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides therapy services in accordance with physician’s orders and accepted professional practices.
  • Registered therapists develop an overall therapy plan of care, including:
    • Treatment and medical diagnosis warranting skilled intervention.
    • Planned duration and frequency of therapy.
    • Short- and long-term functional and measurable goals supporting the discharge plan.
  • Performs skilled treatments according to the established plan of care.
  • Documents observations, patient responses to interventions, progress, and notable changes in condition within specified timeframes.
  • Completes all required documentation and billing on the date of service, adhering to state, federal, and company regulations.
  • Assists in maintaining rehab gym equipment and treatment areas safely, using proper infection prevention methods.

Requirements

  • Must hold a Kansas COTA license/certification.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Organizational and analytical skills required.
  • Ability to function effectively in multi-faceted systems and interact with all levels of staff and customers.
  • Demonstrated time management, organization, and independent clinical judgment.
  • Meets physical requirements to deliver responsibilities.
  • Experience in a geriatric rehabilitation setting preferred.
  • Successful completion of hiring process, including background check.
