About the Role
We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team in a skilled nursing facility. The COTA collaborates with Occupational Therapists and the interdisciplinary team to improve residents' activities of daily living (ADLs), strength, and independence.
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing occupational therapy treatment programs
- Provide therapy services to enhance ADLs, mobility, and functional independence
- Accurately document therapy sessions and resident progress
- Participate in care plan and interdisciplinary team meetings
- Recommend environmental modifications and provide adaptive equipment
- Educate residents and caregivers on therapy techniques
- Maintain therapy supplies, equipment, and treatment areas
- Follow facility policies and documentation standards
Requirements
- Current COTA license in good standing with the NYS Board of Education
- Certification through AOTCB required
- Experience in skilled nursing or rehabilitation preferred
- Knowledge of MDS, PRI, and care planning is a plus
- Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
